Oh... Decker, Decker, Decker! I hadn't known what to do with him while I was reading through his resistance to his feeling for Penelope. I truely wanted to hug him and strangle him at the same time, LOL. And let me tell you this... there will be a lot of pining feelings from both Decker's and Penelope's side. I warn you!

But I'm on Penelope's side because while they both have developed their feelings since childhood, Decker's feeling is more complicated than Pen's in the present.

“Because Decker has things to work through that have nothing to do with me... He just keeps stepping back. That’s not who I want. I want the version of him who can’t be without me. Hazel deserves more than someone who’s almost all in. I deserve more. We have to be enough for him to get there himself—or it won’t work.” My heart bred a liitle bit for Pen after I read these sentences. And it made me want to strangle Decker even more.

The story is so intense and angsty with Decker's and Pen's feelings but don't worry, Piper and Rayne still work their magic by making it hilarious too... even in a scene that shows how sexy Decker is still made me laugh with Pen's thought. And Decker's best friends also help make the story wonderful too. Gosh, I adore all of them especially Easton who I totally agree with Piper and Rayne in their Cockamamie Unicorn Rumblings that he is "the one most of Bailey fans have been waiting patiently for since he first popped into Mr. Heartbreaker."

While Decker is more like an introvert, Easton is an extrovert for sure and he seems to like to be nosy with everyone, LOL. Just like this scene... Easton leans closer, as if he could lower his voice enough that we won’t hear him. “They’re keeping secrets. I want to eavesdrop.”... I can't wait for Easton's story at this point.

I don't know how Piper and Rayne do it but you, guys, are one of the best authors I read ever!

I absolutely loved it. This audiobook? Full cast? Duet narration? It was easily the best seven hours of my day. I fell in love with Decker since last book and completely got hooked on the way his character was built. Decker is a baseball player with some interesting rules, he makes them as needed, but mostly I loved how he slowly breaks some of them for Penelope ❤️ just perfect and honestly fits the title so well, he is the Rulebreaker. Penelope, is amazing—especially as a single mom. And Hazel, her daughter, is honestly one of the cutest parts of the entire story and completely steals every scene she’s in. I loved their journey together as friends, acquaintances, friends again and lovers. I also really enjoyed the sense of family and friendship throughout the book, with the teammates. One of my favorite things about this series is how the authors blend romance, humor, chemistry, and little twists that keep you completely invested until the very end. And that ending… wow. I really didn’t see that coming, and it was so well done. Excellent performance by the narrators, always is a pleasure listening to Teddy and Willa (the whole gang too). I truly loved this book and the entire series. I’ve enjoyed every audiobook so much, and I’m already looking forward to the next one because I’m not ready to leave this world yet. That epilogue!!!! I cannot wait for Easton’s story!!!

Piper Rayne never disappoints me

I love this author duo and this series! Penelope and Decker are such wonderful characters, I was instantly invested in the success of their relationship. Hazel was the most adorable little character, with her own special charm she stole the scene.
This is full of realistic characters and emotion. The just the right mix of history, tension, angst, sweetness, steam, humour and drama.
There’s great banter, meddling, wonderful friendships, family and teammate camaraderie, some family healing, and a few twists that kept me eagerly turning the pages.

📚I’ve been waiting for Decker and Penelope’s story and it was more than I could have hoped for. The dual timelines and chapters with the therapist both contribute great storytelling. These two have such a complicated history on several levels and experiencing the revelations as they unfold had me glued to the story. There is something incredibly satisfying with these Piper Rayne series that have me connecting so much with their characters. I love that we get to spend so much page time with everyone and it’s really genius because I’m already anticipating feeling sad when this series is over. In the meantime, I cannot wait for Easton’s story!!

🎧 This series, on audio, is a must!! The full cast brings this to the next level. Each narrator really embodies their perspective characters and brings so much personality to their performance. It’s such a fun listen I didn’t want to turn it off for anything. The fact each narrator is playing the same character through the course of the series really helps for those that like to binge a whole series.
