The audiobook narration by Erin Mallon and JF Harding deserves all the praise. Truly so well done. Their duet performance was outstanding Erin Mallon perfectly captures Delaney’s vulnerability and quiet strength, while JF Harding gives Bennett a restrained yet powerful intensity that really matched the character's energy. Together, they make the emotions tangible, turning every scene into something you feel as much as you hear. Their vocal chemistry and the emotional they brough to the performance really resonated, and it was such a bingeable listen. 5 stars for the narration for sure.
Delaney never wanted to return to Willowbrook, the town that she spent her teens in. The town that she fell in love in. The town where her friends lived. Her family moved her senior year and she felt like her world was ripped apart. She married another man and had a daughter. But seven years later, when her husband is arrested and she is left penniless, she has no choice but to return to Willowbrook, where her parents once again live.
Bennett Owens loved Delaney. But things happened and he wound up married to someone else. Now he's a single father trying to raise his daughter. When the former love of his life moves back to town, it brings back a lot of feelings that he struggles with.
Delaney winds up having to work at the flower shop that Bennett is part owner of. She doesn't know what to do. How can she face the man she loved with all her heart? And what will she do if anyone ever finds out the truth?
This was such a good story. I could see all sides of it. I loved the way that the characters all interacted with each other and how their love for one another really showed.
I also listened to the audio of the book. It was so good. JF Harding and Erin Mallon did a superb job bring these characters to life.
Chasing Love, book five in the Plain Daisy Ranch series has all the elements I have come to expect from this duo writing team especially in this second chance romance story. When you throw together great characters all within a swoon worthy storyline, your heart won’t be the same.
Bennett and Delaney have a love that was written in the stars when they were young, but life and circumstances pushed them apart. Now, Delaney is back in Willowbrook with a bit of a surprise especially for Bennett. They just need a way to find the passion they once shared and move forward with a family they always deserved.
I also had the added benefit of listening to the audio version of this book and the narrators did an amazing job that absolutely added to my enjoyment of this story.
