One wild night turns into two pink lines.

Sleeping with the best man at my cousin’s wedding felt right at the time—he was a hot, available firefighter, and I was the tipsy maid of honor. It’s a rite of passage.

No regrets… until two pink lines flipped my world upside down.

Now I’m wildly unprepared and trying to hide my pregnancy in my small Alaskan town where privacy is a myth and gossip spreads faster than frostbite.

But wait, it gets worse.

Baby Daddy just came back to town—with a fiancée in tow.
And guess who she wants to plan their wedding?

Me.

Keeping the secret was hard enough.
Keeping my distance from the father of my baby? Impossible.

Just when I think I have it all figured out, he reveals his own secret that changes everything.

Customer Reviews:

"This series is so darn sweet. Each book makes me fall more in love with this town and family...These characters were well written and had great depth. Their background stories added so much to this already perfect story. I am really enjoying this series and this slow burn was no exception. I’m already looking forward to seeing what happens next." - Reading In the Red Room ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"An endearing bundle of spice that awakens the senses and sticks to the heart...From heartache to heartwarming is a bumpy ride that I'd gladly experience again and again." - Isha Coleman ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"If you’re looking for a five-star read that gives you the feels, the fire, and a perfectly perfect HEA—this one delivers in every way." - World of Books 65 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ticked all my boxes

The Complication With The Best Man is wedding planner Harper Bailey and Vermont firefighter Finn’s entertaining read, witty and at times emotional story. It’s book five in the Lake Starlight Series and it’s a story full of surprises.
Harper meets Finn at her cousin Hudson’s wedding and she had no idea that one night was going to change her life forever…….
This book has it all, I laughed, I swooned, I giggled and I was left smiling. The characters are adorable, the banter is witty but it’s the meddling Bailey family that take this book to the next level.

Must Read Rom-Com of the Summer!

This was a fun read. It is full of high energy, yet a sweet story. I did not realize going in that this was a 5th book in a series. Throughout the book I did not feel lost or like I was missing a story. The book covered all major points on past character lives that it did not feel like it was missing chunks.

I enjoyed the storyline very much for Finn and Harper. Finn proves himself as a responsible, loyal and committed character. Harper struggles with self worth throughout the story, as she feels she never could compare to others. A screwup most of the time. But as the story goes on she learns to appreciate herself more and builds more confidence in herself. I truly enjoyed her journey of growth.

Finn and Harpers chemistry is like a magnetic draw. A ship in the dark drawn towards the light in the lighthouse. Drawn to safety and stability. This made for a great story. The plot twist was unexpected and Tamara's character proves to be a selfish one and not very becoming.

Overall this story has lots of laughs with some great comedy and some very tender and loving moments. It will make you laugh and make you cry. It is a steady paced story that is sure to pull on your heart strings and give you butterflies. I would love to see a movie made out of this one. It would be a funny one. I will definitely read more in this series.
